SEO… bet you heard some guru(s) talking about killing search engine ranking competitions through tweaks and bots… Did you believe them? maybe! but don’t worry; most people doing business online believe these companies and gurus.

There are even a number of people here in the Philippines who are in business of search engine optimization or SEO…

Is SEO bad and does it necessarily hurt the search engines?

Most of the time; they do and as an online business owner… it’s really you who suffers in the long run… Sites adhering to such services most of the time suffer a long, slow, and painful death. Then you’d ask where you went wrong.

Before building a business (a website), you must first understand that search engines are in business too. Their clients are information seekers. And people online search for the “right” information to address their concerns. If these information seekers aren’t satisfied with the iformation that the engines are providing. They won’t be happy with the engines and as a result, they stop using such engine, which results to “engine death”.

By this time, such search engine will be out of business.

So, in order for an engine to stay in good business shape. They must provide the “MOST” relevant information possible to these information seekers (yes, it includes you and me).

The world wide web is already filled with garbage information, so if you must build a business… start by building quality content pages first and the engines will love you.

This is the basic truth about search engine optimization.

People online don’t look for brands. They look for information. It’s how the web works!
